Play sound

too-many-attributes:play_soundentity action

Plays a sound at the entity. It takes the same sound, category, volume and pitch as Origins' origins:play_sound, plus three more fields.

FieldTypeDefaultDescription
soundSound idrequiredLike minecraft:entity.wither.spawn.
categoryStringthe entity'sWhich volume slider controls it: master, music, records, weather, blocks, hostile, neutral, players, ambient or voice.
volumeFloat1Volume. Above 1 it's heard further away, 16 blocks per 1 volume.
pitchFloat1Pitch, from 0.5 to 2.
follow_entityBooleanfalseThe sound moves with the entity while it plays.
globalBooleanfalseEveryone in the dimension hears it at full volume. Players out of normal range hear it 2 blocks away, from the entity's direction.
hear_selfBooleantruefalse: when the entity is a player, everyone except that player hears it.
  • With global, a far-away player hears the sound stay put in the entity's direction, even with follow_entity.
  • From Overgrown's Apoli: Overgrown's internal: true is hear_self: false. Category names are vanilla's, so use blocks and records for Overgrown's block and record. global defaults to false. Overgrown turns it on whenever follow_entity is on, so set both to match. Overgrown's global is only heard within the sound's normal range. TMA's reaches the whole dimension.

Example: "War horn". Pressing your primary key plays a raid horn that the whole dimension hears, once a minute.
